ACT Readiness Program

At Holy Cross, we are committed to preparing every student for postsecondary success through a structured, data-driven ACT readiness program. Beginning in ninth grade, students participate in a comprehensive assessment cycle designed to monitor growth, identify areas for improvement, and guide targeted instruction.

Students complete ACT-aligned pre-assessments and post-assessments each year in grades 9, 10, and 11. These benchmark assessments allow teachers and administrators to track individual and cohort progress over time, ensuring that instruction is responsive to student needs and aligned with college readiness standards.

Data from these assessments is used to:

• Identify strengths and opportunities for growth in core academic areas
• Inform classroom instruction and intervention strategies
• Provide students with clear, actionable feedback on their readiness
• Set measurable goals for continuous improvement

In the spring of their junior year, all students participate in an official ACT administration, providing a culminating measure of their preparedness for college entrance and scholarship opportunities.

Through this intentional and longitudinal approach, Holy Cross supports students in building confidence, improving performance, and achieving their highest potential on the ACT and beyond.
