Transfer Students

Transfer Process and Protocol

Thinking about transferring to Holy Cross High School? Our team is here to guide your family through every step of the process.

Step 1: Start the Conversation

All transfer inquiries begin with our Enrollment Coordinator. They serve as your primary point of contact and will communicate directly with your family while collecting transcripts, testing records, and other required academic information.

Step 2: Student Shadow Day

If your family is interested, the Enrollment Coordinator can arrange a shadow day. The prospective student will be paired with a current Holy Cross student in the same grade and academic level to experience a full day on campus.

Step 3: Application Submission

After the shadow day, families will complete the application for admission through the FACTS Student Information System (SIS).

Step 4: Application Review

Once the application is submitted, the Dean of Academics will review the student’s academic records. If the student is in good academic standing, the Enrollment Coordinator will schedule a family interview.

Step 5: Family Interview

The interview includes the family, the Enrollment Coordinator, the Dean of Academics, and the Dean of Students.
The Enrollment Coordinator serves as the host and liaison throughout the meeting.

During the interview:

  • The Dean of Students will discuss Catholic identity, behavior expectations, student involvement, procedures, uniforms, the handbook, and the Guild System.
  • The Dean of Academics will review scheduling, curriculum, testing, the internship program, and the grading system.

Step 6: Admission Decision

Following the interview, the administration will determine whether the student is accepted. If accepted, the Enrollment Coordinator will send an official acceptance letter outlining next steps for enrollment in the FACTS Student Information System (SIS) as well as instructions for applying for financial aid through the FACTS Financial Aid system.

Please note that FACTS SIS and FACTS Financial Aid are separate systems, and each requires its own login credentials, even though both are provided by FACTS.

Step 7: Enrollment Support

The Enrollment Coordinator continues working closely with the family to ensure all enrollment steps are completed. This includes guidance on uniforms, handbook agreements, and required forms within the FACTS SIS.

Once enrollment is complete, the Enrollment Coordinator communicates with all internal departments including the principal, assistant principals, finance office, technology coordinator, internship director, and main office administrative assistant to ensure a smooth transition.

Step 8: Academic and Student Onboarding

  • The Dean of Academics enters the student’s schedule into the FACTS Student Information System and communicates with teachers and the student’s GAB advisor if the transfer occurs during the school year.
  • The Dean of Students ensures the student completes an orientation covering technology, internships, athletics, and school procedures.
  • After enrollment is finalized, the main office administrative assistant requests the official transcript from the sending school and adds completed courses to the Holy Cross transcript.

Important Transfer Timing Notice

Please note that students may not transfer during the months of October through December and February through May unless special arrangements have been made with the President.
